David Neal Buettell

What a fast month and a half... I get so fired up after the Maryland Shores Rug Hooking School that my mother runs and about the whole family is involved in, I had a soon to be grand-son being delivered on June 23, 2009... at 3:59AM... for those not "in the know" that means NOT a whole lotta for several days!!!

Here are a few important pics... those of David... and some of projects started and finished lately. Also a BIG thankyou to all those purchasing my original rug hooking frame covers and labels... It has been fun getting to know all the "hookers" from all over and I hope I have made something useful and fun for you!!! Look at my etsy site... http://www.franiefran.etsy.com/ for rug hooking jewelry and other just fun "stuff" for those loving to be classed as "HOOKER"

happy hooking... franie

Personalized labels

I love to make informative labels for my hooking... check out this sample page... this is how easy it is to make them...

New projects

this is a plastic canvas and purse pattern... just finished the purse and will post soon...
this is a sunflower pattern and fleece to a childs hooking project... comes in a muslin bag with instructions and crochet hook and lots of pre-cut fleece.

Kits that are available at my etsy store and on ebay...

this camera bag was a special order... actually made two of them so far...

another pattern with the lining piece pre cut and sewn...available on franiefran.etsy.com

my motto... and my poem...

I'm going to be a grandma!!

This is my idea of a baby quilt... rug hooking style. With a fleece backing and a satin quilt edge, this 24 x 35" rug is of my daughter's (mom to be) two german sheperds and the baby to come. They sit under the great tree in their front yard. She loved it when she received it at her baby shower.

Laura Pierce workshop

What a wonderful 3 days. Laura Pierce few across the country to Maryland for a Mason Dixon Atha Guild workshop in Ellicott City. Just a half hour ride from my house... it was perfect!! I learned so much from Laura... I had always wondered about those green and purple shadows on portraits and now I know all about it. I also learned from the other 13 hookers gathered to learn "large cut portraits" from Laura. My project was a semi-old black and white picture of my husband, Robin, and myself that I really liked. Converting it to color gave me a lot of challenge but freedom to use my own imagination. I'd like to try it again in sepia and colorized.

Left is Lissa Williamson and Laura Pierce looking at Lissa's "snarl" oriental rug.
Trying to get Robin's eyes looking at the viewer (below)... and he still needs some work ... but then who doesn't... ha ha
